| I am concerned with the statistical methodology of this trial but it should serve to remind us that controversy does exist in the arena of fluid selection. If we only interpret the p-value from the primary M-H analysis (p=0.064) we must consider that colloids may be associated with increased mortality when all indications are combined. But we cannot rule out that there may be benefits from colloid usage in specific clinical indications. The onus is upon us however to find out what those clinical indications are. | |
